ok so im pissed off. dont buy from a place called "chandler motorsports", theyre retarded. theyve sent me the wrong optispark 3 times now and im waiting on the fourth one and hoping they finally got it right. the first time ill take the blame for it and say it was my fault because of this engine swap bullsh*t. but i sent it back to them and gave them the item number of the right one that they sell and they sent me the same one i sent back to them, so i sent that one back and gave them an exact description and item number of the right opti that they sell and today i just recieved the same older style opti for the third time, and ive been paying the shipping there and back and i payed the price difference and i keep getting the same older style one in the mail and they keep apologizing but my car could have been fixed 2 weeks ago if they had sent me the right one.

umm read this please and let me know if more is needed. did u take the old one out yet and if so did u mark were the rotor was pointing? if not your in the same boat i was and it may take a few times to get it right. its kinda hard to get the newer style ones in even when there lined up right just be sure not to use the bolts to suck it in. u can really screw the opti up doing that if its not lined up right. it will push in it just takes a little to get er in there.

if u can get the number one cylinder to tdc then u can use the mark on the opti to line it up.

well shouldn't the pin on the end of the cam go straight into the pin slot on the cloverleaf on the opti? wouldn't that be the right spot? ive got it at top dead center already. also should it go in pretty easy, the 2 o-rings on the dowel on the old opti are worn out but theyre new and thicker on the new opti so how much force if any is needed to slide it in there?

i have to say mine was new and not easy. at first i thought it was the wrong size or something but measured it and it was the same as the other so i shoved a little harder and it popped in there then to get it that last little to get it to the mounts completely was not easy. put a little oil on the o ring, that helps.

ok because it was late when i got home so i didnt do it all tonight but i did try to slip it in and it didnt go in so i didnt force it until i got some advice, but the old one went back on easy. i just wanna make sure i get it right the first time so i dont have to tear it all down again if i do something wrong. so once i oil the o rings up and get it in there just use alittle more force to get it flush with the timing cover? and i shouldnt try to force it in with the bolts right??

absolutly do not use the bolts to pull it in. u can really screw up the optical reader and the bearings. i had to take it out and turn the shaft a little five or six times to get it lined up right. i think a couple of those times i was not pushing quite hard enough but dont know. if u can get the cap off so u can turn the shaft that little bit needed and to make sure its lined up right. if the rotor is free but wont turn its lined up. if that makes sence. lol..

high temp sealant on the bolts. cool got in in there. for me that seems to be the hardest part. lol. should be able to grab the coupler with some pliers and jiggle it side to side a little as u pull. should pop off. i think i grabbed it from the side and put a screwdiver under the pliers and used it as a lever as i moved it side to side.

i cant get that damn thing off for the life of me. i've been trying for hours now and it wont even budge, i even soaked it in penetrating oil used a screwdriver and some pliers and it wont even move. in case i cant get it off is there someplace i can get a new joiner?
