Default Oil pressure sending unit

i have a 95' z28 and the oil pressure is good when the motor is cold, but once it gets up to temp. the pressure drops down. It has about 40lbs on high average, and at a idle its just about the 2nd red line. BUT my question is, does anyone have any helpful suggestions about how to get the oil sending unit out, its stuffed behind the intake and hard to get to...i read some things and discovered it may not even be the problem, but i broke the old one trying to get it out, so now it HAS to come out... any ideas? its almost impossible to budge. THANKS
mike

There is no really easy way, try a deep socket. Oil pressure dropping when the engine is warm is normal, but if it is too low, it may be due to a worn out pump, worn out bearings, or a bad gauge. Verify the pressure with a mechanical test gauge.

I took mine out previously and replaced it. It wasnt to bad. I have long arms though. I just twisted it off with some force. Try maybe putting a rag around it for extra grip. Make sure you are turning it the right way. Other then that I dunno.

How do you verify the pressure with a mechanical test gauge?
