well i have the pump in but im still gathering parts to hook it up all the way. it comes on but pumps air to nowhere. ill have some extra time, we have one more load of pots to bring in tomorrow (brought in two today) and we are done with another crab season.

the newer style has a pipe at the front of the motor that crosses over to the passenger side to pump air to the front of the manifold. best i can figure theres a one way valve on each side and some other kind of valve or restrictor on each side. im still learnin on it.

craby, how come you're hooking the pump back up, you still running a cat?

nope not me. lol. i fish for dungeness crab on the washington coast. i have a small crabber with 500 pots. to old for goin north. lol.

There's a little valve, I don't know what it's called, but it's a valve that the hoses from the pump go to before they get to the headers on mine. You can get them fairly cheap off ebay.

i thought your suppose to hook the pump up to the headers, but what if you have after market headers? do you just block it off. Im gonna run to the emissions place and see if i have to run the pump

No, the pump draws in air from the intake, then pumps it into the exhaust. The little valves I mentioned above I believe are one way valves, to keep the exhaust from being pushed back into the pump lines. You can block then off with some plumbing fittings. My BBK headers had the bungs for the air fittings so I just hooked them up.
