My car heats up and runs crappy when im idling and in traffic, first i thought i could get a 160 degree thermostat but then i thought what would happen if i took my thermostat out altogether? good idea bad idea?

 

You should put the recommended T-stat back, it helps the ECM reach close loop faster. I don't think the running crappy is because of your temperature unless you've been running hot for a long time and may have caused a gasket leak. Are you loosing coolant?

 

no i know its because of the temp. my car runs perfect until i sit in traffic or it idles for a couple of minutes then it heats up a lot then starts running crappy but as soon as i get the car moving again the temp goes down and it runs perfect, so im prety sure its the temp, and no there is no coolant leak.

 

i thouht i had mine fixed cause mine was doing the same thing, now its doing it again and i do loose coolant but looks to be coming out of the lower driverst side of the radiator/hose(havent got to look "good" yet)
leaking from a gasket..that would be head gasket right?

also do you have you're ac charged? cause i dont and everyone say that could be a problem but the car never did overheat at an idle when i got it and when i got the car the ac still wasnt charged.
camaro just suxs and im now selling mine!
o yea and i no what you mean about it runy like m a terd it looses alot of power! and then when uyou actaly get moving the temp drops realy fast back to normal!
meybe the engine coolant censor?-im going to check out mine tomarow il let ya know if i find somthin

 

ac charged....when i replaced my heads i broke the ac hose and didnt replace it nor did charge the ac so maybe thats it because it never did this before.

 

that could be the problem as for me
get it fixed let me know
ill do mione tomarow , the a/c turns on low speed fans and keeps you're engine cool at low speed (idle)
