First I want to thank the forum for giving me someplace to ask my boat loads of questions lol. RWD will defiantly take some getting used to coming from all FWD. Every car has a different feeling and that takes time to become accustom to.

Is there a certain mod setup that proves "best" in our LT1 cars? A certain brand/model of intake? Short ram versus COI? Or even a K&N drop into the stock box if it was proven to help. Which headers sound/flow the best? Which catback gets the best/deepest muscle sound with optimal flow? Borla, SLP, Bassani, Dynomax, Magnaflow, Flowmaster, other? I'm probably leaning towards GMMG or Borla at the moment. Found a used Borla for the LT1 for under $300. Not a bad deal. Any suggestions for an ORY? Do I need a tune/chip after basic upgrades like intake/exhaust? While we're at it, any suggestions for cams/heads/etc/tires/rims? Hopefully someone's past trial and errors can steer me in the ideal direction .

I will only be driving the car on nice weekends so emissions shouldn't be a big concern since it's not a daily driver. As long as it's not pouring boat loads of black carbon monoxide everywhere, I should be fine lol. How big of a difference is there between a high flow cat versus a testpipe/no cat?

I will do my research but I am very much open to opinions!

pick up a jegs or a summit for starter. the borla is a great choice, i have one and i love it, flowmaster and slp is good ones also. a k & N is good. i like hooker or pace setter but all depends on what noise you like. i would go with long tube headers but again its up to you. look at some vids for the sound you like. and there are many choices for rims. alot of people like vette rims. you have alot of options and alot of people who prefer diff things. explore your options.

heres a couple sites, elliotts is a good place to work with on heads and intake. strano has the good susension stuff and can tell u what to use for a personal ride, maryland has some of the best prices for kooks headers and y pipes, the best for the 4th gens,

What do you guys think? Less than 200 miles from my house for a used Borla for the LT1. He's asking $280 but I might be able to squeeze down to $250 since I'm doing local pickup. Sounds like a good deal . Though I noticed one of the tips doesn't even go through the Borla, why's that?

its like that to act as a cutout so it doesnt have to flow through the muffler if you dont want it to. go with long tubes. and as for other performance stuff it depends on your end goal and wat you want out of the car. in my opinion madman racing, spohn, bmr burkhart chassis and midwest chassis are the best suspension places UMI as well. but im into drag racing. i think advanced inductions has showed some killer results on head porting. lloyd is way better with customer service though. i used total engine airflow for my trickflow heads.

Sure. I have stock manifolds too, but I see long tube headers in my near future .
