New to the LT1 world.

If the Hooker's are made for anything previous to the LT1 they probably won't have the D-shaped exhaust ports. Other than that there shouldn't be much of a difference. If you're planning on running a shorty you can probably pick up some LT1 shorties and I would assume they would fit the 3rd Gen engine bay. If you want to have long-tubes it's going to be a different story.

yea thats true. idk. ill call them and see if they would know.. If nothing else i can always get a tubular k-member!! lol
so the lt1 headers are made to clear for the d-shaped port then? they arent just round like they normally are?

iiiii wouldnt say that.. i had to jack up the passenger side of my engine ( take the mount off) to get that header on. However the drivers side was easy. and that was with shorties.

The 3rd and 4th gens are both based off of the same chassis if I recall, so the engine bay is probably pretty similar. That said, the actual flange on an LT1 header has a D shaped port and then they smooth out the bottom into a regular round primary. In order to install headers on an LT1 you have to unbolt both motor mounts and jack the engine up, so it sounds pretty similar. The problem with the clearances on the LT1 long tubes in the 3rd gen is going to be clearing the firewall, steering linkage and other random goodies.

i'll say it...welcome to the LT1!
i personally didn't have any issues with the pacesetters but they wouldn't be my first choice. i'm actually thinking about either picking up some LPP or dynatech headers for the build i have going
