New Camaro
if u have a jack and jackstand the tranny mount is really easy and takes about 20 min total. never done one 35 minutes. motor mounts are a pita and will probly be in the 300 range.
u should do the tranny mount yourself and wait to do the motor mounts, i think ull be happy if its just the tranny mount that failing. first u need to get the car up high enough so u can get under it. ive seen a guy on here put the front wheels on concrete blocks and block the rear wheels so it wont roll. if u have some old tires on rims stick them under the car so it cant fall on ya. then get under there and have a look. the trans mount is at the rear of the transmission and is held by a cross member. u will need to support the trans with a jack so u can get this cross member lose and out of there. the mount is connected to the cross member and the trans by bolts that will need to be taken out. two holding the mount to the trans and one that holds the crossmember to the mount. u will want to take the one that connects the mount to the crossmember first. heres a picture i found in my book for a auto trans. pick up a factory service manual for your yr and model.
Thanks for the info, I'll do the tranny mount myself and if that is the problem I will just wait to do the engine mounts. My driveway is dirt and has bad erosion so I am able to drive a car half on the grass and half on the driveway and it is large enough to get under it. I'll pick up a service manual soon and inspect that.
call your local auto zone or low cost parts store and see what they have em for. may be able to save a few bucks in shipping. ive used parts warehouse a couple times. mostly for parts i cant find anywhere else.
rockauto.com has them for $8.29, plus shipping. And they're only $14.99 at AutoZone.
I have one laying around in my garage that has hardly any miles on it. It was new when I bought my old 96, then I replaced it with a urethane one shortly after. Come and get it if you're local. Or you can have it for shipping costs, but it might be less dinkin around just to get one at the Zone.
