What kind of radiator are you running? Do you have electric fans? Has it always run that hot or is it a recent thing? If it is recent then what did it used to run before it began running hot?

Step 1)
In the driveway, turn on the AC & note if fans come on within a few minutes.
If fans do not come on, there is a problem in the fan ciruitry or the fan motor itself.
If fans come on, the fab motors and fan circuitry is good,
Step 2) Do this if the fans came on on step 1
In the driveway, let engine idle until hot. The fans should come on at slow speed and bring temp down.
if fans do not come on, there is propaply a problem with the coolant temp sensor (not the temp gauge sender) or the wiring assocaiated with it.

thanks i appreciate it, we bought this car that had been sitting up for a year,so just trying to get all the kinks out,the fans will come on,and will go down a little but when given gas,the car actually starts to cool.

Definetely, if the fans work, they should be the two next things to look at. Also check that thereis no air in the system. Open the two air release valves & run the engine until a steady stream of coolant comes out and then close them.

ok new thermostat now it stays cool, fixed that problem, thing is it misses now, maybe horrible gas we ran 2 tanks through with some fuel treatment, were going to do the plugs next, already changed the oil new coolant,we scanned it and it was rapid random misfire, and a couple other codes that we were told would go away if the misfire could be fixed, there suggestion was wires plugs and coil, but all have been replaced along with the water pump besides the plugs, where do you think we should go next say the plugs dont fix the problem.

yes the plugs need to be replaced if its missing like that, its probably the reason, i changed my plugs when mine was missing after that it was fine.i dont know about the horrible gas, just make sure your using premium, you might want to put a new fuel filter in
