The starter on my 95Z comes off with out droping the exhaust. The oil leak is probaly the rear main, the only flaw besides the opti spark. If any thing would be wrong it would be in the head.

I dunno that blown head gasket sounds bad... I remember when my mom's 88 escort gt blew a headgasket. We still can't get it to run.
And you can't get the starter out with the stock exhaust. it wont fit through the Y-pipe.

I agree, go for it. I don't quite know what to advise you to do on the oil issue, your guess is as good as mine there, as well as most of the rest of the engine stuff. If the engine has seized, you can get a direct replacement LT1 for(as was previously stated) about $1500, so that means that you get the car for $3000 total, and with a new engine, that's still a helluva deal. For the radio, be careful, if it has a Bose system it has 2 ohm speakers, so you can't get an aftermarked replacement head unit without replacing all the speakers(that may be changing soon, I believe that Bose is putting out a product that allows compatibility with aftermarket head units, but it's only a rumor as of now). If you have to replace the harnass, get an OEM one to make sure it has the same connector etc. Good luck!

Well, we bought the car. We may be able to get it home this week end. I need my ex wife's truck to pull my trailer, as I am down to only my Mustang. My daughter is really excited.
95, the previous owner did have the original head unit out, that explains why there is speaker wire running all over the place. I can fix that relatively easy. My daughter has an uncle that has a shop of his own, and is a mechanic, and will do the work for free if we buy parts. So I am feeling better about the whole deal. The starter will need to be replaced, and the original owner has lifetime warrenty on it, so if I pull it, he will take it back and exchange it for me. So here we go, wish me luck. And thanks for the support and comments guys. I am sure I will be looking for advice as I go throught this project.
