Yep, it sounds pretty close to that. Nice car by the way. Im running the SLP loudmouth on mine so its a little different, I was aiming at something more similer to this
YouTube - ‪95 z28 230/236 576/570 xfi 280 hr13 Cam Long tube headers no muffler.‬‏

is it really the 383 stroke that messes with the cams tone? How much bigger would I have to go to get something like that? Also isnt there restrictions with a stroked motor on how big a cam can be for clearance?

most of that is open headers, when i asked lloyd about matching a cam to my stuff from this motor to a 383 he recomended my current cam for emissions and this for non emissions, 236/244 .608/.608 110 LSA with 11.5 conpression.

Yes open headers will make that difference. If you really want to sound closer you could put in exhaust cutouts. Not sure about how easy it is on your valves to run them open all the time though, Ive never had them and dont know anyone who has. But you can always close them whenever.

Oh ****, lol well I really appreciate all of the help and information here. I wish I had come and made a post and gotten all of this information before I went and dropped 300 on a cam and two days of work installing it. That cam he suggested, the lift on it is .608? Could I have that toned down to .6 for the heads and springs I use? I dont know a whole lot about cam and spring set ups but I would rather not replace the springs on the heads. Also where could I get a custom grind like that ordered from?

custom grinds are more expensive but if you call comp cams and talk to them they can probably give a list of cams that are very close to what u r looking for and then you can buy one from them or from somewhere else that has similar grinds.

Yeah I was pretty surprised at it too, I wish I had known before I went and bought one off summit. Hopefully this thread will help others looking into getting a cam though.
