Default msd optispark code

Newbie here and I have about 600 miles on rebuilt engine and new optispark. Started showing a code last night. Checked it out at the local parts store and the code is 372. This is to few pulses in timing. Is this something that the adjustable timing on the mds opti can address and if so where have you been setting the timing. Any help would be appreciated.

were just full of contests this morning. what do i win? my guess is.... a.... 97 ls1. did i win? lol. welcome to the forum. it would be nice if they would give some direction on setting the timing on em huh? the computer, over time, will adjust the timing were it wants it even if the opti has a different adustment. just had a msd go on me at 5 months. sumit is taking it back and refunding money, sending a gm acdelco performance opti. need to know the yr and model we can give a informed response.

The car is a 96 Z28 with the LT1. I have had the car for about 4 months and new to the camaro and the LT1. The wife wanted a convertible and I have been spending alot of time with the car.

The code went away on its own. I have driven it another 20 or so miles and seems to be running fine. I kept the original opti and I will keep an eye on it to see how she does. This is my wife's car and she is concerned about breaking down away from home. thanks to all who replied. I also found the mechanic who did all the work on this car for the last 3 years and he gave me all the service records which will help a great deal.
