Alright, so mu 94Z has 190K on it. and the motor is leaking oil like crazy. I wanna put a new lt1 in it. My question is what kind of LT1 can I put in it that will swap over with no problems. Such as if I get a motor from a 95 trans am will that be able to go in without switching anything over? or an LT1 from any other car? I guess what my main question is, is what LT1 motors from what other cars can I put in my car so everything works great?

 

any 93-97 camaro lt1 will fit. most sensors are the same but to be sure you will want to make sure you have sensors for your year. the front cover changes in 95 to a vented opti so if you can you would want that to be vented. i changed mine to the new vented opti front timing cover. iron head lt1 blocks will work, you will want to use your heads and any other parts that are camaro only.

 

on a side note where is the oil coming from? these motors are known for leaky intake seals on the front and back where the rvt goes.

 

thanks for the info, i ended up picking up a motor from a 94Z with only 40K on it. I am hot tanking the block getting all new bearings, port and polishing the heads and intake, and putting a lt4 hotcam kit on it.
