RE: Mods
haha, well that is a very interesting bit of information...thankyou for that if i ever want to race my car on a strip i guess i will have to take out the subs...um, and yes it is an auto i wish it wasn't tho...but i couldn't pass this car up when i found it...its a 94 with some mods and when i bought it it only had like 93000 on it, and i paid $4700 for it so there was no way i was gonna pass that up. but as it is i want to race it but i don't think its ready for that yet...not enough in it.

RE: Mods
Yeah i have a brand new racing tranny in my car with a shift kit already, it made it so much faster...it came from my friends firebird that he crashed a week after he got it, it only had 1000 miles on it, now my car shifts so much smoother and faster pickup, i can hit 90 in second gear. its awesome

RE: Mods
You're car isn't race ready with those subs...The 1/4 mile thing was only an example of what weight does to the car's performance. It doesn't matter how much HP you have, power to weight ratio and weight distribution mean everything. A Locomotive has more power than any car ever built, but it can't make it above 100mph. The subs in your car are not only throwing massive amounts of weight in the back, making the tail end slow around the corners, but it's also adding weight, which is going to affect top speed and acceleration. You're done with bolt-ons, you could get some wider tires with short sidewalls for handeling, and some suspension upgrades, but that won't remedy the power issue. You could re-cam your car, you could port/polish the intake manifold and heads, you're in the big buck areas now...
