Default lt4 hot cam power gains

Ok so ive got the motor out for crank repair and new set of rings... So i figure now or never. Id like to get a cam in there but im on a budget. Ive already spent a bundle on rebuild parts, gaskets, and new tires for the truck. 36'' pj's youch!! Anyway ive found a hotcam kit for 300 bucks less the retainers, seriously considering do this. I know there are alot of better cams but this seems like a decent deal. Im not looking to set and land speed records. Just wanna wake it up a bit and have a choppy idle. I've read alot of posts on the cam. So hate it some love it. Just curious what kind of power gains ill see and if anyone here has had a good experience with this set up.

are you looking at just a cam or the whole valve train... youll want new lifters pushrods 1.6 roller rockers also in order to get full potential at least a nice set of lt headers a cai and a tune

300 bucks for the cam, springs, lifters, and 1.6rockers. He is also throwing in a set of light weight sodium filled valves which i know nothing about btw. Ill have to spring for some headers if i get this and a pcm for less tune unless you guys know of a better tuner to recommend. I was wondering if i can get by on stock manifolds for a couple of weeks... But ill probably just do it right the first time.

you can pop a cam in without headers or a tune and it will make a difference but you wont get full potential without them also ive heard solomon does a better job than pcmforless
