Default LT1 water pump temp sensor

I bought a new water pump from Summit. My old water temp sensor doesn't seem to want to screw into the new pump. Threads look perfect on both. Its as if the new pump needs a smaller temp sensor. maybe metric? I'm not off by much. Thoughts? Thanks.

93 Z auto.

Which pump did you get, the GMB? If so, that's the one I've used, and the sensor swapped over no problem. Do the threads in the pump look messed up or dinged at all?

Before you go nuts with a tap, run to the local parts store (or any store that sells nuts and bolts) and find the NPT section. More than likely you can find an adapter. Usually any threads dealing with liquids will be NPT thread, not SAE or Metric

should fit. get your knife out and run the tip of it around the last row of threads, see if that will straighten out any that are a tad outa whack, don't get crazy, just run it around a few times
