Cool LT1 swap

Ive got my lt1 for the 89. Im going to get a fuel pump soon. Im going from TBI to the LT1 like said. I think i have read somewhere before that i can use the stock TPI pump and that it would have enough to get the job done. Is this true? Also, down the road i would like to pull the LT1 back out and hop it up a bit, would that pump be enough to support 450-500 ish horse? Nothing too radical, just enough to get into trouble with.. lol

Do you know what the flow rate is on your current fuel pump? If I were you I don't know if I would risk overheating my fuel pump and getting stranded somewhere, but that's just me. If you're looking to run 450-500 HP the stock LT1 fuel pump can probably support that, although it may be smart to pick up a Walbro 255 or something along those lines.

pump is getting replaced, im just confirming weather i can use a TPI system fuel pump or if i need something more to power a mildly cammed LT1 for now. Everything else will likely be stock untill i can build it how i want it

If you're replacing the pump anyway go for something bigger than the TPI pump.
