I have an LT1 from a 96 Z28 that I'm considering selling to a friend. it's got 140k miles and it doesn't run very well. I don't know for sure what's all wrong with it, but I know it doesn't hit on all cylinders. I really have no idea how much to ask. I want to get a decent amount, but I'm not about to screw my friend over either. So how much should I ask?

 

With 140k miles, you might get 500 bucks for a well running engine. But if it's not firing on all cylinders, unless it's a simple fix like plugs/wires, I'd feel like a real heel selling to a friend (or anyone in general) for more than 200...

 

what about the 4 spd auto tranny? if I decide to sell the engine I'll obviously sell the tranny too. When we removed it we discovered it had a hole and crack in the bell housing, but it works just fine.

 

ok nvm about the tranny. the crack and stuff is a lot worse than I originally thought once I got a better look at it. I'm amazed it literally didn't fall apart.
