well mine is always below the first line about halfway to there i think equivalent to 10 pounds pressure is that bad?

10lbs per 1,000rpm = If you are revving up to 6,000rpm, a good pressure number reads 60psi.

Short of installing new cam bearings, sort of drop the crank, also remove rod caps = Install new, tighter fitting bearings. Even use different size bearing inserts on one side of the half cap(s) or "C" clamp(s). To shrink the diameter around the journals, you mis-match bearings, they still press "round" in a perfect circle as if both bearing inserts were even as well. < Old School.

I found a leak on the timing cover. Has anyone every replaced the seal and how labor intensive is it?

try a little heavier wt oil. 20w40 something like that.
