Default LT1 engine transplant to a older vehicle

Hello, I'm new here and would like to ask a few questions. I recently aquired a 94 camaro 5.7 a/t, body is shot but engine runs quite well. It's sad that the previous owners abused it so badly. Anyway I have it now and My intentions is to swap the engine into my old 1980 4x4 with a 350ci/TH400/np205

I'm wondering if I can transplant it and by-pass the trans side of the ECM? I would like to mate it my TH400 which I just had rebuilt. I'm wondering if I need to get an aftermarket EFI controller (like painless wiring perfect system) or can I make the factory ECM work? I'd like to use the factory MAF system rather than a MAP aftermarket type.

I've been told that the factory system ign. key needs to recognize a chip in the steering column in order to start so transplanting is a little more difficult. How would I by-pass the system?

How would I do the reverse coolant flow to work into my 1980 truck?

As you can see, I'm stumped with tons of questions. So to lessen my nuissance here, can anyone suggest a single book or website that would cover the overall guidelines in transplanting this engine... Man it's got power....

Thanks for any responses
