LT1 cylinder head
im not sure if anyone knows this, but i wanted to know what the stats on the stock LT1 heads were:
Combustion Chamber Volume (cc) ?
Intake Runner Volume (cc) ?
Exhaust Runner Volume (cc) ?
Intake Valve Diameter (in) ?
Exhaust Valve Diameter (in) ?
Combustion Chamber Volume (cc) ?
Intake Runner Volume (cc) ?
Exhaust Runner Volume (cc) ?
Intake Valve Diameter (in) ?

RE: LT1 cylinder head
Try this site. It actually compares the LT1 to the LT4 but has the specs on what you need:

RE: LT1 cylinder head
Combustion Cahmber is usually about 58cc although I've measured some a small as 54cc. The intake valve is 1.94" and the exhaust is 1.50". You cannot go much bigger because of Valve seat restrictions. If You go past 2.00" and 1.55", You have to install larger seats. The intake runner volume is about like the old iron double hump heads, in the 160-165cc range. I've flowed these heads stock and They flow about 195 cfm at 28". We've ported them and got as much as 255 cfm out of stock size valves. To understand flow numbers, Let Me tell You that whatever number a head flows at 28", It will support 2x that number in Horsepower for an 8 cylinder engine. So, If an LT1 flows 195cfm stock, It can support 390 horsepower. Not that it will make 390 horsepower, but with a free flowing exhaust, The proper camshaft, Have the intake create no restriction and with the optimum compression ratio, It will make the 390 Horsepower. Probably way too much information, but I was on a roll. Ha-Ha.

RE: LT1 cylinder head
i was looking at a Trick Flow cylinder head set that is fully assembled, it is 64 cc in the combustion chamber, intake runner volume is 195, exhaust runner volume is 75, intake valve diameter is 2.020 in, and the exhaust valve diameter is 1.6 in.How much of a power increase would these get ? i know i have to get a new cam, and roller rockers and all that good stuff, and i was going to get them ported to match my intake manifold which will be ported to support a 58mm throttle body

RE: LT1 cylinder head
Make sure it's designed for an LT1. They have special water flow characteristics. Tubes in back to handle Head to head flow, etc. You should have flow numbers available from Trickflow. You'll lose a little compression but that will easily be made up if the flow numbers are up. Post the flow numbers of the Trickflow and I'll see what cam would work the best for You.
