I figured when trying to make a 500 hp motor i would improve the compression ratio but when i asked the guy at jegs he said they come stock with 10.5:1 compression i was just wanting to double check these figures because i already shaved the heads and now im already worried about not being able to use pump gas

 

Stock compresssion on a LT1 is 10.4. Depending on how much you shaved the heads, you may have to buy AV gas at your local airport. You can blow off some of the compression effects by going to a long duration cam.

 

i talked to lloyd elliot and is advice was to not go passed a .615 duration

 

That would be lift, duration is measured in degrees.

 

theres ppl running these motors with 12:5.1 compression on 93 pump gas. my motor is goin to be 11:66.1 its mostly in the tune. i wouldn't go higher than 12:1
