Just picked up a 94 z28 for 500 bucks and was able to drive it home. But just barely made it the 5 miles. I'm going to run a compression test on it, if I can manage to get the plugs out and the tester in there, but before I did that, just thought I would pick the brains a bit here. It's running horribly rich, pulled one of the easy plugs, it's soaked. just runs like crap. ALL of the warning lights on the dash remain lit, ABS, low coolant, temp lite. etc, .all of them, so would it be reasonable to suspect the PCM?

 

I wouldn't jump to the PCM. Have you scanned it for codes? That would be my first step.

What do you know of the history of the car? Did someone try to tune it themselves, without knowing what they were doing?

Has the wiring harness been hacked up? Are there fuses blown or missing? What about relays? Is it a real Z28 or did someone attempt to swap in a V8 for a V6?

Lots of questions, and lots of possible causes for your trouble. But scanning for stored codes should be step one.

 

would not surprise me if the wrong ecm is in it. check to make sure what you got. should be a id number on it. test the temp sensor on the water pump and make sure its not seeing -40 degees. look at 20 here 4th Gen LT1 F-Body Tech Aids shbox is good
