low voltage

Default low voltage

my 95 z28 has low voltage. what would cause this problem? its always touching the red.
i already tested it with another battery and it didn't get better voltage.

Check your voltage at the battery with the engine running. It should be around 14.5 volts (DC). If that is good, then you probably have a faulty voltage gauge. If it is low, start by checking the +12 VDC junction on the passenger wheel well near the battery for any corrosion.

Also check your grounds for any corrosion or loose connections.

If all of the above checks out, you could still have a bad alternator (even though it is new). Take it to the parts store and have it checked out.

Are you saying that the gauge on the car is always reading low?
If the alternator checks out good and the battery does too then the gauge is bad. Of course bad grounds can be the source of alot of electrical problems.
