What do i do??? If i do need lifters, how much do they run. Or if anyone has any for sale let me know.

If you have an LT1 you have roller lifters. It is not necessary to replace roller lifters when replacing the camshaft, as long as they are in good condition. However, you may want to do it as long as the engine is apart and avoid having to do it later on.

see i was told that i had to change them. Im not real sure though. But like you said i should do it while i have everything apart. So you think those will hold up with the cam? So lt1's put like performance lifters in there or just the basic lifters? If they will hold up then i guess ill leave them in there. Im still debating.

The stock lifters are about as good as after market "performance" lifters. If you were using flat lifters, you will definetely have to replace them as they have to wear in with the new cam, otherwise you will wind up with a chewed up cam lobe and lifter in short order. Also a roller cam is usually made out of steel, while a flat tappet cam could be either steel or cast iron, but usually cast.
Roller lifters do not wear in with the cam lobe, and that is why replacement is not necessary. They do, however, wear out, especially the roller bearings, and when this happens the cam lobe gets chewed up.

So i guess i should take em out and check the staus on them, whether they are worn out or they are in good condition? Im hoping they are in good condition so i can save about $250. Preciate in Man, ill let you know what they look like when i take them out so you can tell me what you think.
