Alright it may be a misleading title but atleast I have a sense of humor. So my Z28 threw a 332 code which means Knock sensor, so I check the sensor and its fine, so is the connector... I did a voltage test from the connector to about 8 inches up (as far as I can go) and there is no voltage...

Now before I rip stuff apart to locate the ECM I need to know where it is first and if anyone has a schematic or diagram on the wiring or if they have a code or they are color coded if there is a chart for it. Im guessing the wire came off the ECM (well its wishful thinking because a little solder and its good to go) if the wire is ok after I trace it then its a bad ECM which sucks because I cant buy one tonight.

Didn't say what year car, but there is a knock sensor module between the sensor and the ECM.

 

Its a 1996

 

have u checked the sensor fuse in the black box.

 

yeah thats the first thing I checked... It has to be the wire or the pcm.. im thinking it may be the wire thats unsoldered from the ecm or pcm... its located on the passenger side under the hood close to the firewall right?

 

I found out the wire is dark blue and is connected to D22 which is the knock signal on the pcm

 

Whats the proper way of doing this... since there is no voltage on the wire im guessing its disconnected or loose... sometimes my service engine soon light will come on other times it doesnt

 

ecu or ecm is on the rear of the passenger side fenderwell in the hole by the hood hinge. all the wires are plugin so if its a solder thing its in the ecu.

 

ok im gonna unbolt it right now and check... if its connected and not a soldering issue, what you think can be causing this since the sensor is good, an entirely bad wire? the proble with that is its hard for me to trace the wire all the way.. if its a bad ecu then atleast that gives me a good reason to buy a remapped ecu lol

 

The KS module in your car is a small circuit board plugged into the PCM, unscrew the small door on the PCm to get to it. If the wiring is good you may want to swap the KS module with a good one before buying a new one. If you need a new one, get one for the LT4 Corvette, much less false knock & better power.
