Default install another cat on 94 z28

hey guys i just had an idea to gain well power. I dont know if anyone has tried it or whats up but here it is. MM i saw LT1 Specs FROM GM DOCUMENTATIONthat a 96 and up camaro has two cats, and the extra car compare to the 93-95 it gives 10hp. How hard is it to install another cat to my 94 and have those 10hp extra, is it worth it what ya think?

You need the later model exhaust manifolds, headpipes, "Y" pipe, the new cats, and possibly some new hangers.

It would be costly if you purchased new parts, but you may find them at a salvage yard. You can probably pick up the extra 10 horses by just changing out the Y pipe with a better designed after market one. The factoryone is poorly assembled and causes excessive restrictions.

You could also think about going for some shorty headers if you're replacing manifolds anyway. Just the headers really won't get you much with the stock Y, so it's a must to replace, but the headers would start to pay off once you got the crazy restrictive Y out of the way.

i have a good question also, who makes a good y pipe and, how much? I'm probably gonna throw in some BBK shorties along with either a SLP loudmouth system or flowmaster system and a magnaflow cat.

if your going to get headers i suggest getting the full length headers especially if your after more horsepower, in my opinion its just a waste of money to get the shorties, if your going to spend money on headers you might as well get the long tube

When I was looking into Y's that bolt up to either shorties or the stock manifolds, I thought the Edelbrock Mandrel bent Y looked pretty nice, it was what I was going to get until I decided to get long tubes.

The Edelbrock should do a good job. Just about any mandrel bent pipe is better than the wrinkle tube factory unit, also the factory joint is usually poorly assembled choking up one side or the other.
