Default I Broke it mamma :(

I have a '94 Z with the LT1. 6 speed. I went to start it up after replacing a burned up starter and it started clanking, so ofc I shut it down. I need to add the car sat for about a year with a start-up every week. Anyway, I took a good look under the hood and noticed about 4 quarts of oil puddling up on the ground. So I jacked up the car to see what was what and saw a nice little hole in the side of the oil pan (passenger side). I decided to leave it at that assuming that I threw a rod. You could tell that something had pushed from the inside out.

My question is can I use an older engine block or do I have to stay around the same year? The reason I ask is because I have another older 350 short block that's already rebuilt. My hope is that all the parts will transfer over.

Any direction, links or input would be great!

you will need a lt1 block. lt1 is reverse flow, they are different in several ways.

Well, that sucks. I'll take it off your hands for the right price. I have a '94 auto Z28 and would love to have a 6 speed to share the garage with it.

I would like at least $1200. it has 164k and the clutch was replaced in 2005. I was thinking about 383ing the motor, but of course that takes a little cabbage i dont have atm. I was offered 3k the day it threw the rod but at the time I wanted to rebuild. Ive had it since 1999 when it had 24k on it and its been VERY reliable.

Lemme know if you're interested/

Maybe this weekend I'll lift the body off the motor =D and start taking the motor apart. I hope the cylinder bores aren't scarred up. Luckily there's a machinist down the street that can inspect the block.
Nice ride Craby. Ill try to snag up a few pics of mine.
