Hp estimates?

The h.p. difference between the OBD1 and OBD2 cars is because in 96 the Camaro now had 2 cat converters. That's where the gain came from, the engines are the same. A good rule of thumb is that an automatic car will lose in the neighborhood of 15% h.p. to the wheels. It's not a preset flat number of h.p. lost. Based on the one in the video getting 230 at the wheels puts it right on the money (233 h.p. would have been a dead nuts 15% loss from 275). Their gain to 277 at the wheels equates to having 325 at the crank, a 50 h.p. gain. Not too shabby!

Might be, can't say with certainty. But it's apples and oranges anyway. Take a pre-96 and a 96, do the same mods to the engine, have the computers tuned the same, and they should both end up being equal (in a perfect world). The engines are the same, the ignition is the same. The original stock h.p. differences come from outside the engine.

I dynoed 265 rwhp, 305 tq stock but I did have dual exhaust. After the bolt-on's in my sig its at 309 rwhp, 336 tq. A 44 rwhp gain. So,,, An airfoil, cai, ewp, ASP dampner set (pulleys), 1.7 rockers with springs, a tune and shorty headers with x pipe has netted me 44 rwhp. I do have a new BBK 52 twin sitting around maybe I'll try that next.

Dead on. A stock LT1 should lay down 230-240 RWHP give or take a few. With good intake, exhaust, and tune you gain 20-30 whp easy. If 300 is your goal then (intake, headers, y-pipe, cam, and tune) will get you there with no problem. The LT1 loves good cams and can pick up good numbers with no problem.
