Hp estimates?

To the crank, maybe 300-320hp depending on the tune, so like 260-280hp to the wheels.

You're only making 275hp to the crank stock because it is OBD1.5. OBD2 LT1s make 285 to the crank. And since it is RWD, your losing power while transferring it through the trans, driveshaft, and rear. RWD usually lose around 40hp from crank to wheels.
Good thing is, consider those numbers to be good compared to other cars. V8 needs to breath easier, that's the biggest factor. So you make 30-40hp extra because its a V8 compared to a Honda making maybe 15-20hp extra with the same mods. Also, yours is stick so your losing 5hp less than an auto because there are less moving parts to transfer through with a manual compared to auto.

It's possible. You've got a 96 so your that much closer to it. You only need to make about 60-70hp to reach that. Full exhaust, CAI, 52mm TB, p&p intake, and a nice tune and you could do it.

The h.p. difference between the OBD1 and OBD2 cars is because in 96 the Camaro now had 2 cat converters. That's where the gain came from, the engines are the same. A good rule of thumb is that an automatic car will lose in the neighborhood of 15% h.p. to the wheels. It's not a preset flat number of h.p. lost. Based on the one in the video getting 230 at the wheels puts it right on the money (233 h.p. would have been a dead nuts 15% loss from 275). Their gain to 277 at the wheels equates to having 325 at the crank, a 50 h.p. gain. Not too shabby!
