Question How much hp will bbk throttle body and cai add?

My new (1995) lt1 engine has a bbk 52 throttle body and a cold air intake, about how much flywheel hp will they add? I'm not expecting a lot, I'm just curious haha

A real cold air intake like K&N or Moroso will add 5 or so. The throttle body won't give you anything.

Old thread....but why won't a bigger throttle body add anything? I had a bored throttle body on my 4.7L Dakota and I could really tell a difference in the butt dyno. What is the stock size?

Its big enough already, its not a restrictive part in the intake setup

to add to "failed"'s comment

there is nothing calling for more air than what the stock can provide

do you have ported heads and an aftermarket camshaft and upgraded fuel delivery system including injectors and upgraded exhaust?

If the answer is yes, then you need to deliver more air volume and the intake then needs to be addressed.

You match parts to the application and requirements.

Gotcha. I kinda figured that but just wanted to verify that a bigger TB "won't do a thing" without complementing mods. I understand the concept of more air in = more air out. I plan on doing lt headers and cat back along with my CAI. Figured I could force a little more air in with a bigger TB...lol

Larger tbs and Cai are supporting mods, alone they don't do much but when you upgrade the engine there needed for the full affect.
