Default How many miles are too many?

How many miles are too many to start doing engine upgrades? Mine has 140k yes I know alot But this is my first Z and now that I have a decent job I want to put some money into it.. Do I have too many miles to start upgrading? Should I just keep it stock until it quits on me then rebuild with all the parts I want? I did just have the tranny rebuilt about 3k miles ago I got all the performance upgrades aamco could give me.

youre not too late, just make sure before you get to crazy that all the gaskets are redone, check the injectors and full fuel system, but youre def not too late

Thanks, I'll make sure I check all that out before I start anything. Where do you suggest I start? The car is bone stock besides the tranny and I do have 3.23 gears.

Slp intake? You don't suggest K&N? It's a 95 and a convertible if that makes a difference to lol

Car and Driver did a test day of all intakes for LT and LS cars, they found 4 RWHP out of the K&N and 7-8 RWHP out of the SLP plus im an SS guy, SLP is always better hahah, but if you plan on running it hard id also suggest because its a 95 the LS1 aluminium driveshaft, because we all know the LT driveshaft sucks, ive seen them break alot, but thats where i started and im doing pretty good

best place to start is plugs and plug wires, next is if your opti is old u need to save a couple hundred for when u need a opti. good opti runs about 4 hundred so if u have 2 or 3 saved it wont put u in the poorhouse. then a good cai, k&n, moroso, slp are close to the same. slp is supposed to work a little bit better but the extra bucks could be better used elsewhere for much better hp gains. a set of 1.6 roller rockers would be a good addition that wont require a major teardown. long tube headers and a good flowing cat back with a computer tune will top it off. sooo thats a good start for ya.
