Default How i changed plugs on my LT1

OK I recently changed my plug wires about 900 miles ago, when i got my MSD setup. i did a lot of work over the winter so when i started it i was pretty rough, I thought to myself well my plugs have about 40,000 on them Lol so i decided to go with the NGK TR55's V power or whatever.

so anyway heres what i used jacks jackstands a few good toolboxes with all neccisary tools.

I just refer to them 1-4 from front to back.

1st and 2nd on driver side, pretty easy just rock the boot back and forth and use a nice ratchet with the 5/8's spark plug socket to remove/reinstall new ones.

3rd and 4th i got by putting jack stands under front right subframe, (but you can use the frame) and getting at them from the bottom.

Ok so heres the hard part the pasenger side, dont even attemp to get at theese through the bottom, because unless you have flat arms they wont fit.

start off by unhooking your battery, then remove the serpentine belt. you might need an extra hand for that part. now take out your alternator, be careful of the little connecter thingy in the back though.

ok start off by getting
#1 plug rock boot back and forth now pull out straight it will kinda pop when it comes off,

now 1 2 and even three arent bad take off the rubber egr pipe, that helps get some room, and get them by putting the socket on plug and then reaching the socket in to inch it off.

# 4 is the hard part, you have to force your arm between the ac evap pipe and the oil dipstick to get your hand in and its pretty tough to remove/install the plugs and even the wire.

I took many breaks throught the whole project so it took me all day but it was definatly worth it, car runs smooth as silk now

Glad it worked out and got good results. When I do this job I bring a six pack with me, it makes the job more pleasant.
