how hard is it to rip out manifolds
well if your going to rip them out it shouldnt take long or be to hard,,, you may break a motor mount or two. lol. to do it right it takes a couple hours to get it out. probly three to get back together,,, for me anyways. lol. i always double check everything, except what i forget.
and take a break (time out) when i get frustrated.

the problem is that the windshields are so far over the motor and they compact these cars so much that the back bolts are a btch to get to but after a few bloody knuckles and a mother fcker or 2 youll get it
They aren't too bad.... Lay on top the motor to get the bolts off the passenger side headers. You can probably get the driver side from standing. If not, lay on top the motor again. You have a lot more room to move your hands on top the motor.
Also, before you take the manifolds off....take the steering linkage off, and remove the dipstick. It will save you a lot of time.
The steering linkage has two bolts...both really easy. The first one is on top the linkage by the firewall....you should see it.... the second one is at the end of the steering linkage...if you have a protective cover remove it..(stick a flat head screwdriver in the middle of the shroud and pry it off)
Once the bolts are off it will slide off.
For the dipstick...There is a bolt where the dipstick slides into the block...You can reach it from laying under the car and feeding your hand up over the starter. I think its a 10MM bolt. Once that bolt is off, get in front of the car by the passenger side manifold, and wiggle the dipstick until it comes out...once you get the bolt off it comes out easy....
One more thing ! ....remove the alternator This will give you some room to work with.
Its not bad, it sounds like a lot, but just take it one step at a time. If you Any questions about the manifolds or headers just post here.
Oh yea, before you take the manifolds off, spray the bolts with some penetrating lube the day before...I noticed that when I took my manifolds off, some of the bolts weren't that tight.
Ok, last thing...seriously....while you have manifolds off, now is a good time to replace your spark plugs and your plug wires.
See....that was the last thing....
