Hey guys I could really use some help here.
Hey guys, so I have a 97 Camaro Z28 LT1, and so far im at a loss lol.
I purchased the car from a guy on craigslist and it appeared to be a pretty good buy. He had it listed for $7000 after marking it down 4 different times so i jumped on it! It is heavily moded already which is kind of why i got it bc i don't really have the time, or the money to do it all myself from scratch.
So heres the thing, when i got he told me that he thought the fuel pump was going out so i took it to the shop the next day. I got all the usual stuff done that you normally would with a new car like intake cleaning, fuel cleaning, brake fluid, Royal purple oil change, brakes all the way around, coolant flush etc. Originally the car would start, run for a few minutes then shut back down. They scanned it and everything checked out except it through a code something along the lines of Too few revolutions 24x pulses. First off, I have no idea what that means, but it sounds to me like its timing is messed up.
They dug a little deeper and found that my cam sensor and my crank sensor were not putting out a signal and that my ignition modual and coil wasn't putting out either; all three were intermittin of course obviously because the car wouldn't run at all otherwise right? So I had them replace the cam sensor and then just earlier today i replaced the crank sensor.
To my surprise it didn't fix the problem, which at this point seems as though its running really rich, and it kind of bogs itself down a when i try to get my foot in it. Also, it doesn't like to go over 2500rpm when im in drive? when it's in park, or neutral, it will rev all the way to redline, but otherwise not so much.
So on to what I believe the problem to be: Since the car is moded, Pace Setter headers, SLP loudmouth exhaust, Camed, 40lb injectors, and a high output fuel pump. I think that maybe the tune is just really off. I don't have a tuner of my own, but there are alot of tuner shops in my area that can do it for me. But I would like to get all of the mechanical issues corrected first obviously.
So my question i guess is what would cause my car to stall while driving down the road, and what can i do to correct the problem? I would appreciate any and all feed back, I am new here so if my edicate is off, please let me know. Thanks.

need to scann the computer for trouble codes to see if anything there will point the way. sure sounds like the opti is goin, maybe the ignition coil/control module. moved your thread to the lt1 section for you. gota try and keep the tech stuff in the tech section. welcome to the forum.

I would get a scan tool with live data and watch the engine rpms and maybe see what the fuel trim is doing. May also be helpful to run the car until all the emissions controls do their self test to see if it is even getting into closed loop mode. The car may have put it self into limp mode due to a miscommunication between the cmp sensor and crank sensor readings. It definately sound like it could be the opti on its way out but checking the live data and pending or set dtc's should help you narrow it down. Autozone or advance may have a scan tool that can do all of this btw.
