Default hesitation

I just bought a 94 v6 camaro it is a automatic. It was running really bad when I got it. (it would stall in reverse, it would barely run up hills, it seemd like it was misfiring, it would not idle properly.)I took it to the local pepboys who i trust because my friend is one of the managers there. They replaced the plugs, wires, and changed the oil. they even got it to idle very good. the only problem now is that when i floor it to accelerate it hesitates. does anyone know what could be causing this and what I should look for.

thanks

Get that thing reprogrammed first. Then if that doesn't work got to your local GM dealership and have them run a diognostics.

This car uses the waste spaerk ignitio systems with 3 coils controlled by the ignition module which sits under the coils. I suspect one of the coils could have gone bad or the ignition module itself. You should get the car scanned & see if some code comes up.

Depending on which version you have. The old version all 3 coils are packaged toghether and you have to replace them all at one time. The later version the coils can be individually changed out. The coils run about $30-40 each, and the module runs about $90-$110. The coils screw in on top of the module, just don't cross spark plug wires between the coils.

You could run a professional 3 step fuel system cleaner. Go to advancedautoparts.com and look for the 3 step cleaning system. One goes in the tank, then you clean out your throttle body, and then take off the vacuum line for the brake booster and a cleaner gets sucked into the intake breaking down the carbon in the intake manifold, injectors, valves, pistons, O2 sensors and Catalytic convert. It really does work, it'll cost about $30 we charge $50 at our shop and the dealer charges $120. Also you might want to look into a transmission flush and a diff flush too. Check your water pump too.
