help my 95 z wont start

Default help my 95 z wont start

ok heres the deal my car started friday morning. friday afternoon it wouldnt. the starter went out. replaced the starter and still wont start replaced battery still wont start. i turn the key on and dash lights come on stereo comes on but as soon as i try to start it everything goes off. no click click click noise no starter engaging noise or anything. i put a multimeter to the starter power and i am getting power to it. i took it back off and had it tested and it is a good starter. i am lost any advice.

Did you check your fuses? It could be that simple.

you have a bad connection somewhere. after checking ignition fuse try unhooking the battery cables and cleaning the cable ends using a wire brush, you have a new battery but go ahead and give the battery terminals a cleaning as well. there is a power junction box on the passenger side fenderwell. small red plastic box. unhook the wires and wire brush the wire ends and reconnect. do same with the ground junction wires next to the power box it has no cover. then move on to checking the grounds on the motor. theres one under the motor mount on the passenger side. one on passenger side of the block in front of the starter. one or two under the coil on the front driver side of the motor. i think im forgetting one.

could also be the ignition switch on the column

does the fuel pump engage?

My nissan truck was doing the thing.. Turned out just to be a loose battery terminal.

Work your way through the circuit. The starter side and the "control" side. I imagine this thing has either a clutch switch or a park/nuetral safety switch could be that or even a faulty relay or fuse, but it could be tons of other stuff too. Just get a wiring diagram and trace it back.

thank you everyone i found the problem. the computer is no longer reading the chip in the key.

i appreciate everyones help now on to the next problem. i bought this as a project and guess what it definitely is. lol the guy i bought it from had everything rigged one way or another.
