Default help with misfire in cylinders?

i was just @ a garage 2day. they diagnosed the engine misfiring in more than 3 cylinders. they think i might hav 2 replace the distributor cap? i guess it can be a big job 4 some. my question is that what company or product should use 2 replace it. just ur old oem standard or is ther better companys making these parts.
this is 4 my 97 ss camaro lt1 6 speed.
also if anyone could recomend a header company 2 go with. short or long? not sure what 2 go with. i thought i would add headers 2 car while i had the distributor worked on. might give me the room i need 2 install them

You don't want to replace just the cap and rotor, it's best to replace the entire Opti unit. Go OEM (AC Delco) or MSD, ebay and off-brand types don't last as long and are more likely to go bad right off the bat, and it's not a job your'e going to want to do repeatedly.

As far as headers, we will recommend long tubes as long as you aren't in California. Replacing the distributor isn't going to give you any extra room on the install though since it sits on the front of the motor.
