Default RE: Heat

I also just found out that the friend who replaced my thermostat should have bled the system, which he did not do. The mechanics at the garage suspect that may be the reason for the lack of fluid in one of the water pump channels. They flushed & filled again and now there is once again fluid flowing though. However, still no heat. Would have been helpful if I'd had everything done in the proper order, I know (like having the stat replaced at the time the original flush & fill was done). I'm learning....

The heater core I'd had put on was an aftermarket hunk of generic junk from an auto parts store. They're replacing that with an OEM heater core today, and I'm crossing my fingers that that is the problem.

I really don't see where the heads are involved with the heater, especially since both the inlet & otlet hoses are hot, indicating hot water is being circulated to the heater core.
Dunno man, but in the case of my ex's S10, neither the heating or a/c worked, and it ended up being a headgasket. Maybe it was a coincidence? Who knows....

Yeah, no doubt! Matter of fact, it did get fixed on Friday. The aftermarket hunk o' junk heater core was the culprit.

Whew!
