Default Having trouble with LT1

Hello there i am new here but i was hoping yall could help me out with a few things. I have a 94 z28 that had a blown motor. I bought a motor out of a 95 impala ss. I have installed the new motor and the car runs but is tripping code 36 (loss of high resoultion pulse signal). When i start the car it runs ruff. After a few mins the car bogs down and dies and also trips the check engine light. It has done this quite a few times. The only difference is the distributor btw the 94 and 95 motor. I was wondering if i have a computer issue being that it is a 95 distributor in a 94 car or what? I ran some test and the out come says that the distributor is defective. But i just bought a brand new one from Summit Racing. Any help?

Thanks

Ok Thanks, I did call them and they said that they would replace it but i was talking to a mechanic today and he said that it could be the tone ring on the crankshaft. He was saying that they may be different from the impala motor to a camaro motor. Could this be one of my issues?

There is no tone ring on your crankshaft.

Your mechanic must be referring to the separate crankshaft sensor that came out in 96, not an issue with your year engine or car.
Is your distributor the new or old style? 1992-early 94 used the old style.
