maf provides info for the computer to use. the ecm or ecu controls everything using the info it gets from all the sensors.

now i dont know that much about boost with nos i just know the computer controls the ignition using info from the maf. so if u need anything changed i would think it would be the ecu. or add on chip.

Don't buy a new MAF, it's not worth your money. If you're planning on running nitrous the stock MAF is going to work fine, you're going to want to get the PCM tuned. Changing the MAF isn't going to change the tune.

Yes it will work with nitrous, but you're still going to need to tune for the nitrous regardless of the manufacture of your MAF.

Default The MAF Debate - Did the Granatelli MAF help?

If you don’t mind, please post your thoughts on the Granatelli MAF. I’m curious to see what you think.

The stock MAF vs. performance MAF vs. de-screened stock MAF debate appears to have been going on for a while. I cannot personally account for which is the best way to go, but there is some controversy on the subject. The pro-stock MAF believers tend to argue that the screen in the stock MAF allows for a more accurate reading and thus, a more precise fuel/air ratio. One guy compared how the screen properly aligns the air in a stock MAF to how the screen in a kitchen faucet aligns the water flow. I have also read that some people claim to have lost performance and experienced difficulty tuning Granatelli MAFs. Once again, I do not know which MAF is the best and cannot personally account for one particular kind, but would like to hear what you have to say.

Here are some links concerning the MAF debate:
