if its 383 im guessing its modded. Depends on what is done to it. Have you asked the seller what he's been getting?

no i have not. but i intend on doing that. but what it is pretty much is a 350 with a new cam that gives it a 4 inch stroke i believe which makes it a 383.

It's still a 350. The seller sounds a bit shady...

Cam will not change the stroke of the engine nor change the displacement. Do you mean crankshaft?

isnt a typical 383 4.030 bore and 3.750 stroke? Either way i would just ask the seller what he has been getting.

sbc, yes. They were also a 4.25 bore and 3.4 (approx) stroke in Mopars

to the OP, both of your posts seem as if you are new to this. I would bring along a parent or uncle because you don't get to 383 CID on an sbc with a camshaft

Also, if you are looking for economy you are looking at the wrong vehicles

yes i meant crant shaft. excuse me. and i am very new to this my dad is an expert on cars i am not i am only learning so if i make mistakes dont judge please just help me out and i believe its a crankshaft with a 3.75 inch stoke.
and yes my dads been checking the car out.
also i dont have much problem with money at the moment im 17 making plenty of money for my age. so gas mileage wont be a huge issue as more of an annoyance.
so i am just curios what kind of gas mileage im looking forward to i have heard from people with the 383 they get from 15-25. thats personally hard to believe, but could be true

yes that is the range of mpg. i get at worst 15 and at best 22mpg with the build and gears i have now. stock i have gotten up to 28 highway and thats with a auto. manual trans will do a tad better. what gear ratio is the rear end, that will also effect mpg. going from 323 to 373 i lost 5 mpg

make sure you see the receipts for the parts i could put a car on craigslist and say its a 383 all day when really its just a factory lt1 also as far as fuel economy a lot depends on what cam what injectors the tune on the computer how heavy your foot is ect
