Fuel injection or carb?

Fuel injection or carb?
hey i have a 96 z28 with a lt4 motor in it, i bought the car mostly for drag racing and it is fairly quick but i would like to go faster. I have considered either upgrading the fuel injection andcomputer or either converting it to a carb. I was wondering which way would be the best for drag racing. I also plan on upgrading the fuel pump and ignition if needed. thanks for any replys!

RE: Fuel injection or carb?
What you plan to do won't make much of a difference. The fuel injection and computer are fine, and switching to a carb won't add ant power. You may want to get the PCM tuned on a dyno if you are still using the PCM that came with the LT1. You really need to do all the bolt on mods, and then start working on the internal stuff, and finally tune the PCM again.

Fuel injection is more consistent. NOS!!! best bang for your buck. Beef up the internals and then like Pete said, get it dyno tuned. Go with a wet shot and then get a timing control and if you wanna run more NOS, get a water injection kit too.

RE: Fuel injection or carb?
Ithink i stillhave the stock computer but it has most of the bolt ons, like a bbk 58mm throttle body, larger maf sensor, cai, and a few others as well as the lt4 kit(heads, intake, cam).I bough the car with most of themods already done so im trying to finish what the previous owner started. I also have a 100 wet shot of nitrous. I am sortof woried about using the nitrous because it seems to be leaning out above about 4500. the check engine lite is on also but i had it hooked to a computer and it would not connect to the car so i couldnt get any codes. would a dyno tune take care of all that? or is that something i need to fix before trying to get it dynoed?

RE: Fuel injection or carb?
As far as the carb vs fuel injection goes, as Pete stated, it really won't help you much...at least not until you get into making some serious power. They both have benefits, fuel injection is very easily tuned and adjusted(especially with the computer controlling it), but you can get much more air/fuel through a carb system, but it is much harder to tune and get running perfectly. If you're good at tuning carbs, and are making some serious power and need rediculous amounts of air, you could switch over to the carb(s), but with the amount of power you have right now, fuel injection should be just fine, maybe some bigger injectors and then get the PCM retuned.

what size injectors would be the best for this car? and where is the best place to get a lt4 knock sensor and o2 simulators? also if i have the heads ported and intake matched what size injectors would i need?
