Default Forgot to take pics- Vacuum line connections

So had to replace head gaskets and Ive got the heads, intake, and exhaust manifolds back on. I am having some trouble figuring out where some lines go. they are the smaller dia black hoses. I know I need to connect the diaphram on the back of the intake up but not sure to where and I also have a black plug with two hoses coming from it. It is NOT the one that has a hose that crosses from the passenger side to the driver side under the throttle body.

Any diagrams or close up pics of your engines would greatly help and be appreciated!

its helped for a couple things thanks! Need some help on putting the rockers back on. I beleive valves are EiiEEiiE 1 is farthest from firewall on drivers side? If thats right then the only thing I need is how to know if the #1 is on the firing stroke or not. I cant see the timing marks from above but I took out #1 plug and put a screw driver in it to feel the piston reach tdc. Any way of telling which stroke its on? I know I can see if the rockers moved by feel but I cant turn the engine, hold the screw driver and feel the rockers all at the same time.

its the tdc after the intake valve opens and closes. look where the exhaust ports are the exhaust valves would be in line with them.

look at where the exhaust ports are, on the ends and in the middle so thats where the exhaust valves would be. just sayin your take on valve location is correct.

ohhh ok gotcha. That makes sense.

Well lets say I set the rockers on the opposite stroke, Im guessing Ill know by the way the engine is running? Valves will be making noise- clacking?

so long as your on the valve closed cycle your ok. the setting of the valves when not running does not get it completely correct, it should get you to a running condition so lifters can be set with motor running.
