Default flywheel questions?

so i get my trans apart from my engine and the flywheel looks shot. so i am either going to replace it with a good used on i have (good idea or bad?) or buy a steel spec flywheel or steel ram flywheel. can i just bolt these on and go ? is there balancing to be done ? if so how do i get the rotating assembly balanced with the flywheel with everything still in the car ? surely they dont expect you to pull the engine just to replace the flywheel right ? im not familar with the different methods of balancing engines so input is appreciated

flywheel should be balanced. thats why theres holes drilled in em and they only go in one way. check the used one out for cracks or heat stress and trueness. dont want a wobble in the clutch. when u say good used one i figure u done that already. go with a good new one if u can afford it. might be a good time to check to see if u can get a bigger clutch for it, if your replacing all of it anyways.

if it feels good do it. spec makes a good steel flywheel.
