Dont waste ur money on the bigge 2.02 intake... Just make ur exhaust bigger.. to like a 1.60.. I dont think u can do 2.02 1.60 in the first place on the lt1 head...atleast not on the aluminum version...as for the lt1 cam u may see 20 more horse,, if u r lucky... if ur on a budget, i would get teh heads and intake port matched and get a diff cam beside the lt4,, its old technology they came out wiht it a long time ago.. I woudl mayeb see if lunati makes a voodoo cam for it.. check comps XFI cams, they work really good,.. look for aroudn a 220 duration @50 cam up to 226 duration@50.. with about 530 lift,,, if u want me to look for some for u just let me know,,, ill get u part numbers..*** far as igntion and fuel pump.. it shoudl be fine like z28 pete said... update the pcm

Speedman is right about the valves. The 1.94 / 1.60 combo works the best. I've seen the best gains on the flowbench is with a pocket porting, usually up about 20 - 30 CFM. Port matching is cosmetic and really won't pick up flow numbers much without the pocket port. I'd really do both. For the money, The LT4 cam kit is a great deal and runs well. Comp or Lunati can fix You up, but it'll cost more. Budget wise, spend the money on the head work first. I always use a rule when building a performance engine and that is to spend as much on the heads and intake as You do on the short block.

Thanks for the help guys. I already have the cam it was a kit with new springs and 1.6 RR so for the money it was a good deal. And I have already bought the valves all I need is head work and gaskets.

Most likely you will need new valve seats to handle the bigger valves. As far as I know, the stock seats cannot be machined that big and still be reliable. Also, when using the LT4 cam kit, you should also upgrade to the LT4 timing set. However, if the egine is an early model, the front cover and optispark will need to be changed to the later model in order for the timing set to fit.
