Default few questions about rockers

alright so recently i blew the headgasket on my camaro so i decided to get it torn apart to replace the gasket. while i was doing this i got the heads checked out and turns out they are both warped and cracked. so i decided to go with a set of remachined stock heads and valves. the only problem now is that in my old head i had manley valves, dual springs, etc and 1.6 roller rockers as opposed to the 1.5 rockers that come stock. now since i am going with these stock valves and springs instead of the aftermarket ones i had, will my 1.6 roller rockers work with the stock valves and springs? i also had lash caps in the old heads so will i need those again or not?

Thanks

i'm confused as to why you can't steal all the parts off of your old heads, like the dual springs?

a couple fo the valves got sheared off and te rest look like they are going to break very soon, the springs are still good but some valves wont even budge to get them out. so its cheaper just to buy the new heads with valves and springs.

its not that hard to change the springs and retainers. u will need to measure and test the old springs but unless the motor has been overheated or the valves busting ruined them the springs should be ok. they are a major part if u have a cam thats bigger than stock.

If you have any sort of high performance cam installed, the stock springs may be too weak, especially with the 1.6 rockers and wind up with valve float, or worse such as the valves being hit by the piston

yeah i went through this with my mechanic and he said its possible that aspring could break but he doubts it because the cam is mild and it would be really unlikely that it would actually pop a spring but i think i may as well put my aftermarket ones back on the new heads. but i went to pick up my heads today and they are steel heads! dont really know what to do at this point wheteher i should bring them back or not. mechanic said they wil work but cast are sh_t so i think ill try to find other heads now.

what yr is your car. i found a set of new aluminum heads on ebay. they are new but have been stored for 14yrs so a little surface rust. 350 bucks. sending them in to be worked over at elliotts. look them over on my album. i checked and the guy doesnt have any on sale right now but once in a while i see he has another set up for bid.
