Got used haders. The egr tube is been cut off and welded over. Should a fab a tube and keep the egr or just remove and use block of plates. If i do remove it what effects will it have on running and the pcm? 95 lt1 obd1

depends the laws in your area. it would most likely throw a code for egr unless you have the egr tuned out of the computer at a place like this http://www.lt1pcmtuning.com/service/ get more power and most times better mpg

The EGR system actually lowers combustion chamber temperatures, which gives better gas mileage, but it can take away a little in the performance dept. But since the EGR isn't working at idle or at peak power, the performance deal isn't really an issue. Removing the EGR just for the heck of it would be a step backwards in design. But sometimes, as in your case, you might have to go without.

I could just as easily drill a hole in the header. Cut the pipe off the stock manifold and weld it to the header. shbox says the same thing so maybe i should keep it...
