egr delete
go to www.shbox.com and look around. you can learn A LOT from that page and i believe he has a write up on how to delete the EGR
do you already have long tube headers and want to delete the egr? Or, do you have stock exh manifolds? Or, you are buying long tubes and want to buy the off road version (which makes the install easier) ?
If you have long tubes already and still have egr, then buy the block off plates and block at both locations on the rear of the intake manifold. You don't need to remove the tube from the header, just put it up to the block off plate and bolt it on. No need to try to get at the tube on the header.
You will need to have the egr tuned out of the computer.
If you are stock, then why bother???????????????????
If you are buying long tubes, then yes, ones without egr/air are a heck of a lot easier to install.

The 95 EGR valve has a single vacuum hose hookup only, does it not? Without an electrical connection, how can the computer know it's gone?
I removed/blocked off the EGR valve on my (vacuum only) 92 LT1 without a glitch.

nah, there's a solenoid and if you unplug it, you get the SES light. When I deleted mine, I tie wrapped the solenoid and left it connected until I got the tune from Solomon.
I was also riding around using a golf tee as a vacuum plug until I bothered to buy a plug.

A golf tee, eh? Was that with or without a ball on it?

i have a 96 with longtubes w/ EGR and AIR fittings already installed on the car, and i'm planning on removing the AIR and EGR while the car's apart and i'm doing a cam swap. It looks like it's going to be a complete pain in the *** to get to the tube that connects to the header (it's a really tight fit, even removing the starter) to install the block-off plate
so are you saying you can just bolt the block-off plate to the other end of the tube that connects to the intake manifold and just leave the tube dangling? or are you saying that you can just bolt the tube onto the block-off plate at the back of the intake manifold?
i greatly appreciate your response

anyway, follow that flexible tube up to the rear of the intake manifold, remove it, put the block off plate onto the intake manifold and reconnect that flexible tube and tighten the nuts. There is no way i was trying to remove the tube from the header itself.
when you know the cam you are using, include that information when you request the tune from Solomon lt1pcmtuning.com I also had him tune out the egr and VATS
I have an auto tranny and wish I bought the headers without AIR and EGR. The EGR tube on the passenger header was the problem when installing

i have an auto as well =/
i appreciate the quick response. won't the egr tube leak if i just bolt it up to the back of the installed block-off plate? i don't see how i'm going to bolt the connection at the top of the tube to the back of the egr block-off plate, maybe i need to buy a thinner plate.
