Maybe I will purchase the hand held.

So I read the mods on the sticky thread about budget mods. Where can I go after I do the CAI, TB, ORY and spark plugs ? What are good mods to do next ?

Thanks !
Headers? That's where I'd go next as far as engine performance goes then again it depends on your budget as cam swaps and things like that can get really pricey? Maybe go for underdrive pulleys as well.

I'm glad you brought up headers. That's another topic I wanted to ask about. Have you or anyone put headers on themselves ? I quoted the install price of headers at a couple of shops and it was about 700$ to get them installed. Not including the 500 or more for a set of coated. I was thinking about trying to do them myself, Any one does this ?

I've never done it personally, I'm looking at a set of kooks mid-tubes myself, but I know there are a couple of ways to go about installing them - pulling out the engine and bolting them on or lifting the car up and trying to go in from underneath, the latter being a lot more difficult because of space issues in the engine compartment but I've head it can be done.

The hand tuners have limited capabilities, and you have no accurate way of telling if what you did really made adifference, unless you take it down a drag strip, and then a lot depends on your driving ability.

your going to want long tubes, they give the best response, and i would do all your mods before the dyno tune, that way in the end you get the most out of it, i have no cats and a cat back with a cold air, and my tunning guy( a good friend of mine) got me about 30 hp and the same on tq to the wheels with a dyno tune, now when i do my cam and long tubes i am doing it again, but he is a good friend of mine so i got it crazy *** cheep, to me its a good add on after your other mods if you want to shell out the dough for it!!
