dupli color
hey i was wondering if anyone has tried the vinyl and fabric paint? any tips to applying it? i am thinking of going from beige fabric to blue seat centers and door panels. might try some other dupli color products on other parts like engine plastics and such.
I used a dye that I picked up at a local place that sells paint to body shops, can't remember what the brand name of it was but it worked great. Had to replace a burned dash in a Nissan pickup. I took a piece of interior molding with me so they could match the color. Turned out great. I used the truck for about a year before selling it and the dash never peeled or scratched off. I believe it was around $10 or $15 dollar for a spray can about the size of any spray paint.
I used Dupli Color on my entire interior (had to work with a budget). It's only scratched off in places that ended up getting beat up a little bit by stuff being inside my car. It hasn't peeled or anything (yet). I took everything off, cleaned it with soap and water, used a very tiny grit sand paper to rough up the surface, but still keep the texture. Then dried it, and sprayed it. There's obviously better products out there to change the color of vinyl/plastic and carpet, but since you only asked about Dupli Color, there it is.
